Tony Tidwell
Tony Tidwell is probably the best kept secret of the South. As a songwriter, he has crafted some of the most awe-inspiring songs we have ever heard. The Clemson, SC native released his debut, Tony Tidwell & The Scalded Dogs, on Ghostmeat in 1996. He released his second album, Out Of The Way, on Ghostmeat in 1998. After nearly a decade since a self-released third album, Tidwell is back at Ghostmeat with Love Is Not A Word.

Since the 1980's, Flagpole has played a crucial role in the development of Athens' world famous music scene. The Christmas albums the magazine produced in the mid-1990's showcased dozens of incredible Athens bands. This CD is the 1996 edition of the Flagpole Christmas album. It was released by Athens, GA's Ghostmeat Records.
This CD features 18 bands. It was recorded at Ghostmeat Studio featuring Rob Keller (The Welfare Liners, Six String Drag), Jason Slatton (The Lures, Randall Bramblett), John Neff (Shonna Tucker, Drive-By Truckers), Neil Golden (Shonna Tucker, Lona), Williams Tonks (Bloodkin, Barbara Cue). The album also features longtime bandmates Glenn Cannon and Chris Ellenburg as well as Ghostmeat founder Russ Hallauer (The Welfare Liners, The Lures, Sunbrain). It is rounded out with appearances by Adam Poulin and Wayne Wilson of The Welfare Liners and Dean Johnston (Ken Will Morton) on drums and percussion.
